Remote Africa Is Changing: What Job Seekers Need to Know
Something has been broken about how most job platforms work — including ours. We have been aggregating remote jobs from across the internet, pulling in listings from dozens of sources, and presenting them as a feed of opportunity. The problem: when you click Apply, you get taken to another website. Sometimes there is a sign-in wall. Sometimes you have to create a new account. Sometimes the job is already filled.
That is not a great experience, and we know it. We are changing it.
What Is Changing
Remote Africa is moving away from scraped job listings entirely. Going forward, every job you see on the platform will be a direct posting from a company that chose to hire on remoteafrica.io.
What this means in practice:
- No more clicking Apply and landing on a third-party site
- No more creating accounts on other platforms just to submit an application
- No more listings that are already closed by the time you find them
The New Experience: Apply Without an Account
When you apply for a job on Remote Africa, you apply here — directly. No account required. Just fill in what the company needs and submit.
That is it. One platform, one application, done.
On Creating a Profile (Optional)
You will never need to create an account to apply for a job on Remote Africa. That is a promise.
But if you want to, creating a profile has a real benefit: when you apply, the company can see who you are. Your profile picture shows up in their dashboard alongside your application. You are not just a CV in a pile — you are a person they can connect a face and story to.
That is the only reason we would ever encourage you to create an account. Not to gatekeep applications. Not to collect your data. Just to give you a better shot at standing out.
What Happens to the Old Listings
The scraped job listings currently on the platform will be phased out. As they become outdated, they will be removed from search. We are not doing this overnight — but you may notice the volume of listings change as we transition.
We would rather show you 50 real, active opportunities than 5,000 listings where half do not respond.
What This Means for You Going Forward
This is the kind of platform we should have been building from the start — one where the companies are actually there, actually hiring, and you can reach them directly.
If you are a job seeker, the change is simple: fewer listings, better quality, and an application experience that does not make you want to close the tab.
