Frontend Engineer

🌍 100% RemoteFull-Time

Posted November 15, 2021

To start because we all hate finding the perfect position in the wrong timezone. While this position is remote, we re looking for someone who will have significant overlap (at least 4 hours) with Central European Time during a typical workday. We re not hiring from locations that require a graveyard shift to make the overlap happen.

We re a growing, stable company that creates tools that help websites turn their visitors into customers with popups. We are the good guys, as unobtrusive as possible. We are not the cheapest tool but our customers love us.

We re looking for a frontend engineer that knows javascript extremely well. We have to write vanilla javascript that doesn t affect our customer s performance or functionality, no matter how good or bad their website is coded. Also, many of our customers do not know how to code, so we ve built a flexible yet easy-to-use HTML editor to help them make their campaigns. In short, we get to solve some pretty technical problems for a lot of non-technical users.

Specifically, we re looking for someone who is not primarily a framework user but who likes to tinker with problems no one has discovered before. Pragmatic, not political. Can ask questions and give answers.

Finally, We do not use React, nor Typescript, directly, but we are inspired by some of their ideas.

Specifically, we're looking for someone who:
  • May use a framework like react or vue but also know how and why it works. You may have figured out how more than a few js frameworks are built and have ideas on how they could be improved.
  • Likes working with teammates across the company to build a plan and to drive complex features from start to finish.
  • Expresses themselves technically as well as socially in written English. We have multiple nationalities at Sleeknote and many work remotely.

We d love to hear from you if:
  • You take pride in the things you build, from the visual polish of the user experience to the reliability of backend services
  • You thrive in an environment that believes prototypes speak louder than detailed specs
  • You have a track record of trying and learning new things
  • You have a point of view but are low ego
  • You can work independently but knows when to ask questions because collaboration leads to better solutions

Even if you don t feel you are a perfect fit for everything described, please apply as we are excited to hear from people looking to grow.
