Elinvar enables asset & wealth managers to digitalize their business models by providing the required Platform as a Service. As (Senior) Data Engineer (all genders) you will be part of our cross-functional Data & Analytics team, providing solutions for our data processes to ensure a sustainable data architecture for advanced analytics for internal and external clients.

What will keep you challenged

  • Designing, deploying and maintaining our backend services and infrastructure components of the data ecosystem
  • Providing support in the design and build of our ETLs
  • Evaluating different approaches and technologies to match the evolving needs of the business
  • Analysis of complex data elements to debug, analyzing and proactively improve our data ecosystem
  • Design data flows and implement data mappings in an agile environment
  • Implement complex Spark reporting with modern functional data engineering patterns
  • Collaborating with a team of product managers, data analysts and executive stakeholders to develop a comprehensive understanding of the key drivers and opportunities within the business
  • Keeping up with industry s best practices and continually improving how we approach our data challenges#

What we are looking for

  • Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or similar
  • Working and theoretical knowledge of database concepts and principles, including database modeling, ETL processes
  • Understanding of SQL query execution and SQL databases (PostgreSQL)
  • Good communication skills, proficiency in English (German language is a plus)
  • Work experience with Spark or similar data processing frameworks
  • Work experience with Airflow or similar scheduler
  • Programming skills in Scala, Java and Python
  • Experience with Java API frameworks, Spring or similar
  • Analytical and pragmatic approach to solving both business and technical problems
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Bash, knowledge of CD/CI
  • Experience with a dashboarding tool (Tableau, Superset or similar
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly and be challenged in an agile environment
